According to Elk Studios, there are “two kinds of people” in Hollywood — those who work in front of the camera and those who work behind it! In their newest mobile slot called Bloopers, they represent these two kinds of people in the form of gorgeous actors (represeting front) and little multi-coloured minion-like creatures (representing behind). Although this theme is unusual, it’s certainly fun and quirky. But is the rest of the game fun and quirky? Let’s find out!

Similar to Elk Studios’ last outing – DJ Wild – Bloopers is your standard 5×3 reel slot littered with wild and scatter symbols and has a staggering 243 paylines. Yes, you read that correctly. 243.
Not only does this shatter one’s expectations of this game, it increases your potential winnings up to £185,000. For a non-jackpot slot, that is not bad. Not bad at all.
Throughout the game, there are different versions of those little creature things (called bloopers) that serve a different function. There are five bloopers in all and they are: the Sound Tech, the Fix-It Guy, the Make Up Artist, the Cutter, and the Stunt Man. Each serves as a wild symbol with a particular purpose. We’ll go into more detail with that in the special features. But overall, the gameplay is very solid and great fun!

Special features within the game are triggered randomly and they are pretty diverse. Along with free spins, players get a chance to acquire different bonuses through all the wild symbols pictured as the bloopers themselves.
In Base Game
- Sound Tech — this wild places sticky wilds on the reels and awards a free respin.
In Free Spins
- Stunt Man — this one turns other wilds into expanding wilds.
- Cutter — this wild gives ‘falling symbols’ which form winning combos, also known as a Wild Symbol Avalanche.
- Make Up — awards some extra free spins.
- Fix-It– swithces around the symbols to create winning combos.
So how do you get free spins in the first place? Easy. Land three or more of the bonus stars and each star will show a blooper and these will activate the free spins. This can happen any number of times so long as you get that winning bonus star combo!

Performance of this game is great. There’s no two ways about it. The graphics are spectacularly smooth and the colour scheme is both interesting and pleasing enough to attract your eye. The game possesses this cartoon-y like art style which compliments the light-hearted tone. The music, though a little irritating, is of good quality also.
The first thing players are treated to, however, is a cinematic which explains why Elk went with this theme. It’s a cute opening but it’s a little unnecessary and comes off as though Elk have minimal faith in this product and are trying too hard to justify it. Why not just release it and let it justify itself? Other than that, though, there’s little complaint here.

243 Ways to Win!
Of course the most unique thing about Bloopers is the 234 paylines. Never have we come across a slot that has this many (we didn’t think it was possible). For a non-jackpot slot, these odds are staggering and winners can earn a huge amount of money. This makes the game worth playing regardless if you think the theme is stupid/unusual or the slot a bit basic.
But does this make the game too easy? Not by a long shot. Wilds appear randomly on the reel, balancing out the odds of winning by a fair amount. So although scoring a win may not occur frequently, the rewards are most definitely worth sticking around for.
So is this slot worth investing your money into? Absolutely! It’s a great way to quickly win some cash and its cute and unusual theme makes it stand out in the slot market. If you’re into the minion-style critters of any franchise, you’ll fall in love with the bloopers.
However, they won’t appeal to everybody and some of the theme may come across as irritating/bizarre. It’s a fairly basic slot too but this game isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel. It’s just trying to give players a good time and we believe it achieves this aim and then some.
