Dr. Zoolittle is a 5 reel slot, with 15 paylines. Bets start at 2p, and wager size and how many paylines you want to play can be adjusted to suit your preference. The maximum bet is £12, and whilst this isn’t massive, there are plenty of big multipliers to help you win big.
The game has an autoplay feature which allows players have the reels automatically spinned for them. You can set autoplay mode to spin either 10, 20, 25, 50, or 99 times whilst using this feature.
The multipliers in the game hold the biggest wins, with five of a kinds giving remarkable results. For instance, line up 5 of the Gift Shop symbols to multiply your bet by 500x or line up five Jackpot crates to get your hands on that progressive jackpot. The game’s still brand new, so we expect the jackpot to rise significantly in the coming weeks!
The other symbols in the game are represented by the letters A, K, Q and J, plus numbers 9 and 10. We’re a little disappointed the animals on these symbols don’t match the letters suggested however, but I suppose a Quail isn’t as aesthetically fun as a hippo in a ballerina costume.
Wilds and Scatter symbols also appear throughout the game. The angry gorilla signifies a wild, which not only subsitutes any other symbol in the game, but get five of these in a row and your bet will be multiplied by 2000! The Free Spins symbols offer up to 9 free spins, and will automatically use the last bet amount and last number of paylines used.
Mini games are always a big feature in Pocketwin’s games and luckily there’s two great bonus rounds to play in Dr. Zoolittle. The mini games offer some great multipliers and make a nice change of pace to simply hitting the spin button over and over again. The mini games are activated when you line up 2 or more game symbols on any payline, and there’s two different types to look out for. The ‘Breakout’ mini game is symbolised by a caged gorilla, whilst the ‘Feeding Time’ game is represented by a train.
The Breakout mini game is quite simple, you’re invited to choose a suitcase in order to feed the gorilla his lunch. There’s three suitcases to pick from, and select correctly and you could win up to 100x your bet.
In comparison, the Feeding Time mini game is definitely more fun. Take a train journey across the zoo and select a crate of food as you go. If your box contains food instead of rubbish, you’ll be rewarded with a multiplier, plus the chance to continue on to the next train stop. However, if you’re crate is filled with rubbish then sadly it’s game over for you. As you progress through the mini game, you’re able to keep every multiplier you win before hitting a box of junk.
At first, Dr. Zoolittle seems a little overcrowded. The design is nice, but for the smaller screen the amount of detail makes it look a bit too busy. However, we love the crate-design to the reels and we’re big fans of the fan-fare that goes on when you make a win. Packed with celebratory phrases like ‘Zooper Duper’ and ‘Fierce’, you can’t help but smile. Overall, the game is jolly and the music seems to match, even if it gets a little annoying after your fifth spin.
Dr. Zoolittle is currently available for both Android and iPhone and as you need to download the game in order to play, we’re happy to report that it’s a tiny download, so it won’t take up too much space on your device. It’s useful to note that once downloaded, this means you can play offline too, perfect for playing whilst using patchy 3G.
