IGT are bringing their casino classic, Hot Roll, to the mobile casinos in the form of Hot Roll Super Times. The slot is a classic 3 reeler and lands at Casumo on the 11th February. Hot Roll isn’t a video slot and harkens back to the classic 3 reel slot from days yonder. It bears a lot of resemblance to the Triple Diamond slot, also made by IGT. With IGT taking a step back into the past, we thought we’d follow and take a look at what this golden oldie has to offer for the modern day slots player.
The New(ish) Hot Roll Super Times Slot
The first thing that may put people off is the fact that this slot is only 3 reels, like the classic slots of old. The symbols are the 7 and Bar symbols that graced hundreds of slots back in the day. The slot comes with 9 bet lines in total, making it very competitive to play, from a financial perspective, but possibly putting others off due to its limited payline scope.
It’s definitely a step back for IGT, who have been making slots since the Hot Rolls setup was the norm. But to judge it on those factors would be making a huge mistake. This slot is hiding away some great multipliers and bonus rounds, that’ll possibly peak your interest when it hits in February.
Multipliers are nothing new in a slot, especially a 3 reel slot, but these multipliers are big enough to be a talking point. The multipliers are random, meaning that at any time you can get a random multiplier of 2x, 3x, 4x, and 5x.
When those hit, they’ll bring a pretty huge difference to your winnings. Having played Triple Diamond, which is heavily based on Hot Rolls, the multipliers come semi regularly, with higher multipliers coming the rarest for obvious reasons. We can only imagine IGT will stick to this template, since Triple Diamond is still very widely played online and seems to be working for them.
These multipliers are accumulative as well. So if you get two 5x multipliers in one go, then you’ll have a 10x multiplier for that spin. For a slot with so little reel space, it’s certainly packing the multipliers.
Hot Roll Bonus
The Hot Roll bonus is by far the most exciting part of this slot. Slots like this rarely ever have bonus rounds outside of a possible free spins mode, so it’s great to see IGT step out of the norm and bring us something special. We’d love to show you a video of this bonus round, but since it only exists in real life casinos, the video footage is mostly bad handheld camera footage.
So let’s describe it as best we can.
The idea is simple. When you unlock the bonus round by spinning 3 scatter symbols, you get given 2 dice. You then have to roll these dice. Depending on what you roll, you get a certain number of points, which relate to your in game credits. In the real world version the scores are:
- 2 or 12 – 400 points
- 3 or 11 – 240 points
- 4 or 10 – 160 points
- 5 or 9 – 120 points
- 6 or 8 – 80 points
- 7 on first roll – 280 points and ends the round
- 7 after first roll – ends the round
Once you roll a 7, the round is over. It means you always win something at the very least and you can potentially keep that bonus round going indefinitely. However, once you roll a 7, which is one of the likeliest rolls; the round is over.
It looks set to be one of the most memorable bonus rounds in recent memory. By having no time or spin limit on it, we foresee a lot of tense bonus games for a lot of players when February hits.
Hot Roll Super Times Arrives 11th February
Hot Rolls Super Times is coming to Casumo Casino on the 11th February, but is likely to hit a few other major casinos around the same date. The slot is being released simultaneously for desktop, tablet and smartphone (iOS & Android); so you’ll be able to easily play on whatever platform you own.
IGT are continuing their reign of being one of the more unpredictable slot providers in the industry, releasing slots across every genre and platform they can get their hands on. With 2 new slots of theirs hitting in February and plenty more coming in 2016, we can’t deny that we’re excited for what they’ll bring out next.
