Following the huge success of winter wonderland slot Wild North, Play’n Go are set to bolster their slots offering with the deep sea adventure Eye of the Kraken. The slot takes an innovative approach to gaming and offers some frankly massive bonus features to keep you coming back up for air and diving back into the action.

Eye of the Kraken opens with a neat little video animation which sets out your mission to beat the deep sea fairing Kraken monster and win a load of cash. You can do so on desktop, mobile and tablet.
The game features a 3×3 reel layout that we don’t see too often these days – unless its on a more classical Fruity-Machine-style slot – and 8 fixed pay-lines. Symbols include an old man sailor, the ship’s captain and a wench with a wrench.
There are also diver’s helmets, torpedoes, compasses, oxygen tanks, diving boots and harpoons. The look of the game is rather steampunk-esque and I’d have to say I’m a big fan of both the epic soundtrack and the tight animation.
Any of the human character symbols may combine to provide a win and the same goes for any of the torpedoes, compasses, oxygen tanks, diving boots and harpoons.
- Wild Kraken tentacles: Okay so occasionally Play’n Go break out the orchestral strings and the reels go into overdrive, at which point tentacles will wrap themselves around the reels creating wilds wherever they land. This is pretty cool and can lead to some decent wins.
Dive Mode: This feature is triggered by hitting a minimum of 5 divers helmets on any position across the reels. If you hit 5 you’ll enter the free spins mode which provides 9 free spins. The goal here is to hit as many treasure chests as possible. These act as scatters and gain a multiplier for ever chest on the reels per spin. There are also some shiny pendant wild symbols.
- Conquer the Kraken: This is a really neat feature which I haven’t seen many times before. In my opinion its the real reason you’d play this game. Over the course of your play you must accumulate 50 torpedo symbols to trigger the bonus wherein you’ll meet the Kraken who holds five treasure chests. Two are empty and one holds an enormous win. Hit this and you’re in the money. It took me approximately 150 spins to enter this bonus mode.
