NetEnt’s Hook’s Heroes Preview
Hook’s Heroes is NetEnt’s latest slots game offering and is set for release on the 23rd of September – still a way off yet but the teaser video has given us great cause for excitement. Set in the stomping ground of pirates on the high seas, the unique aspect of this game is the three bonus games you can trigger: Fairy Feature, Mermaid Feature and the Pirate Feature.
Hit two scatters across any of the reels and one of these three cutesy features features will be chosen at random to give you one free re-spin. Hit three or more scatters and things really liven up – here you get to choose which of the three features you want to play and 10 free spins to earn some cash!
- Fairy Feature: On each spin you get anything from 2 to 5 extra Wilds placed on the reels in random positions. A little like the Lights mobile slot.
- Mermaid Feature: All wins are multiplied by 2 unless the win combination contains 1 or more Wilds, then the wins are multiplied by 4.
- Pirate Feature: The symbols on the screen act like scatters. So you get a win based on the number of symbols on the reels, without needing them to be on an active payline.

William Hill H1 profit down
William Hill has reported a 12% fall in profit for the twenty-six weeks ending 30th June 2015.
The casino giant has attributed the year-on-year decrease in operating profit from £176.9m to £155.7m to huge increase in taxes in the gaming sector.
An additional £44m in gambling duties from the point-of-consumption tax and an increase in Machine Games Duty (MGD) from 20% to 25% are thought to have significantly affected profit levels.
In the wake of the merger between Ladbrokes and Gala Coral, William Hill have suddenly found themselves moving down the pecking order for UK gambling outfits, but all is not doom and gloom for old Bill. The operator also announced today its extension into the online lottery market with the acquisition of a 29.4% stake in NeoGames for £16m.
