Welcome to the weekly news roundup! This week, we’re running a fine-toothed comb through the greasy hair of software providers that bring you the biggest mobile slots hits. We’ll take a look at new software provider BetDigital, three new games from Microgaming, a new generation of Spin16 slots games from Genii and NetEnt’s upcoming Dazzle Me slot.
New Software Provider BetDigital Go Live
Betdigital, a UK homegrown game content and systems developer that enables NetEnt, IGT, and NYX Gaming to deliver proprietary digital content to UK-licensed land-based betting offices (LBOs), will soon supply a selection of multi-channel games to key UK betting companies Betfair, Gala Coral, and Ladbrokes.
Licensed by the UK Gambling Commission to offer gambling software and gaming machine technical software, the Oxford-based Betdigital announced that the company has agreed to deliver its in-house developed omni-channel games via its proprietary SystemX.
Three new Microgaming Offerings for July
Hot as Hades is hosted by mythic the lord of the underworld himself. This will be a mid-variance slot, with a top possible win of 2,000 times your bet and a Greek God playing air-guitar across the reels every so often…
Another slot is the Party Island. It features a generic 5 reel, 9 payline slot inspired by the oppulent hedonism of the Ibiza phenomenon. Cocktails, babes in bikinis and DJ decks all feature as symbols so if you’re soon to arrive in Ibiza or you’ve just got home with serious withdrawal symptoms, maybe you could plug the hole with this adventurous slot.
Or maybe not, because that would be a little weird. Nonetheless, some great features including 3 or more scatters which will trigger 15 free spins with a 2x multiplier on winners, wild symbols and even win up to 3,000 times your bet. Party on.
Lastly, Supe It Up is a fairly old slot which has been reconfigured and rebuffed for mobile. Full of colour and action, it takes place over twenty-five lines and five reels; the interface resembles a car’s dashboard with the big red ‘Spin’ button as the nitro-glycerine boost. I assume all cars have this. Again, nothing revolutionary to see here, but its nice to know the big guns in software are gearing their efforts towards dedicated mobile platforms.
New Generation Gaming: Spin16 Games
Although we thought that Slingo was innovative, Genii have made the biggest leap in slot game innovation in the last decade. Their all-new Spin16 games offer players the opportunity to spin any reel in any direction, enhancing gameplay by making use of the ‘ubiquitous’ swipe action for touchscreens. Which reel you choose has a real impact on the outcome of the spin too.
Each time you spin a reel, the house spins afterwards. If, during this ‘match phase’ you hit the same icon again the house applies a multiplier bonus to your win. Sounds great, right? The games also feature spin hot or spin cold buttons, which play the reels that have either provided the most wins or most losses to the entire player network at the time of your playing. Spin16 games are available only at LeoVegas until July 17th!
UKash Merges with PaySafeCard
UKash have merged with Paysafecard, an Austria-based online payment service founded in 2000, which provides customers with a PIN code (to the value of £10, £25, £50, £75 or £100) that can then be used to purchase products or services online.
Ukash is a UK-based online payment service founded in 2005 utilising a very similar system wherein customers buy a PIN code in one of the thousands of outlets, and this PIN-code can then be used to purchase goods and services online. As a result of this merger Ukash has now has ceased to exist and as of June 2015 no new Ukash ‘vouchers’ or codes will be sold.
The move came after both companies were bought out by depositing giant Skrill. Since both offered very similar services the logical move was to merge the two. The upshot of this decision is that Skrill now have an enormous customer base and are likely to streamline the service to bring users an optimum level of performance. Good news at your end, loyal gamer.
Cloudbet Acquire BetVIP Playerbase
Bitcoin casino operator Cloudbet has come to the rescue of failing bitcoin casino BetVIP and their customers after agreeing a deal to acquire all customer accounts and player liabilities.
BetVIP suspended all trading on June 12, citing the ‘early nature of Bitcoin sports betting and an increasingly restrictive legal environment’ for its failure to generate a viable revenue. Customers have been unable to access their funds since.
However, under the new agreement, BetVIP customers can access their account at Cloudbet and withdraw funds without restriction, answering the prayers of many spurned bitcoin players. BetVIP customers will also gain access to the wide range of betting and gaming services offered by the more professional Cloudbet.
NetEnt Release Dazzle Me Slot Teaser
NetEnt have released a sparkly new teaser video for their new slots game Dazzle Me, which is set for release in August. This glittering game boasts 5 distinctive reels and 76 paylines, with a minimum spin of 20p.
The jewel encrusted gameplay is enhanced by the addition of Dazzling Wild Reels, a Free Spins feature and Linked Reels. Dazzling Wild will randomly appear in the base game, making the entire reel wild. The Free Spins feature gives you up to 16 free spins initially.
Whilst the slot doesn’t appear to bring anything revolutionary to the table, the gameplay looks to have all the NetEnt hallmarks of quality: clean graphics with sumptuous colours, customizable bet values and a simple interface, among other great features!
