It’s no secret that the Droid Slots team loves slots – it’s easy and fun! Little do you know that we regularly play Poker too. Poker requires both skill and luck, which makes any wins more gratifying. Unlike slots, there is a social element as you chat with your fellow Poker players and predict their moves. What more, there are millions of Poker players in the UK and we’d be lame if we weren’t in this wonderful community.
In this article, we’re reviewing the Poker offerings at mFortune Mobile Casino, a firm favourite of ours. mFortune offers good bonuses to its players and accepts deposits via phone bill (SMS). More details below!

There are 22 different tables to play at, which differ by player’s location and the stakes. You can choose the table that you’d like to play at, or just select “Find Seat” if you’re not too fussed. At mFortune, there are usually few tables of active players at any one time. I’ve also seen all the tables filled with players on a busy night.
There are also Demo Games, in which you can learn the rules with fake money and real players. Just remember though: people will be playing a lot differently when they actually have to put their own money on the line, as opposed to playing with play money.
Are you confident/ skilled enough to play at a High Stakes table? A buddy of mine did and won loads more than she started with. Meanwhile, I’m busy practicing to get to her level. That’s the thing with Poker though, it takes practice and experience before the cash starts flowing in. As a beginner, expect a couple of quid and fun.
Tip for beginners! It takes a good amount of guts, guile and instincts to be successful at Poker. We recommend that you start on the smaller games before graduating to tables with higher wagers. This is also a good way to familiarise yourself with the rules alongside other beginners. Don’t lose all your hard-earned money on one bad hand!
There are two styles of Poker to choose from at mFortune – Texas Hold ‘Em and Hi Lo Poker. Both games are available for download as separate apps, and I’d advise you to try them both!
Texas Hold ‘Em
In this classic version of Poker, you are dealt two cards, which are private to you. Another five cards are dealt, face up onto the table. Players must make the best five card hand from the seven cards that are available to them.
At mFortune, there are tables for players of varying abilities. Novices can play against other novices at Micro Fun, while experienced players can raise the stakes at the High Fun tables. We love that there are many tables and players at mFortune, and you’ll never have to play above your means and abilities.
Hi Lo Poker
This game introduces an interesting twist – once the hand has been completed, you’ll have the chance to double the winnings by playing a game of Higher or Lower with the dealer. Some may find it as a conniving way for casinos to earn their money back, whereas others are enticed by the possibility of doubling their winnings. Be cautious and always choose the option to “Collect” your winnings instead of playing Hi Lo. After all, one in hand is better than two in the bush!
Similar to slots, there’s a paytable that sets out the amount you can win – you may win up to £5,000 if you score a Royal Flush!
We’ve detailed the amount you must wager (and can possibly win) in the Game Overview above. They range from £2 to £80, so take your pick.
Both Poker apps have been given a major revamp recently and they’re looking spiffier than ever! The casino tables look lush, and it is easy to navigate around the app as well. I found the Support button really helpful, with options to arrange a Free Call Back as well as a complete guide to the Rules and Payout.
A truly social experience!
mFortune has been praised for integrating the live casino setting into its mobile apps. Besides the ordinary Tables, you can choose to Play with Friends or to Create a Private Table. You can search for friends using their nickname or email address. Be warned though – if your friends keep inviting you to play, they may think you’re easy pickings! It’s up to you to prove them wrong.
You can also chat with other players while playing, so go ahead and discuss life, Universe and ladies while playing your favourite card game. It isn’t just the mobile Bingo players who can socialise while playing on their mobile phone! You don’t have to use the chat feature for conversation though – you can use it to get a psychological advantage over your opponent instead, if you’re devious enough!
As a casino, mFortune benefits because its players stay for company instead of hopping between tables between hands. Do you prefer multi-hand Poker? I don’t think my skills are up to it!
Bonuses and Promotions
New players at mFortune can enjoy a £5 Welcome Bonus; no deposit required. That’s plenty to sample both Poker offerings as well as the other games available. There’s Roulette, Blackjack, Bingo and 14 other mobile slots. Which Witch was a popular release in April 2014.
Other bonuses and promotions include:
- 100% First Deposit Bonus up to £200
- 10% Top-Up Bonus
- Refer a Friend – £5 + 50% of their First Deposit
- Weekly Prize Draws
- Loyalty Points that are exchangeable for Bonus Credit
Deposits and Withdrawals
We think that this game is great, mainly because it is one of the few casinos that offer multiplayer gambling on a mobile phone. The game runs smoothly, promising a good Poker experience every time. We’d love it more if there were thousands of active players at one time; however, it’s remains a solid choice for Poker players.
