Have you imagined what the ruins of Greek temples would look like in its heyday? Luscious gods strolling around in their rich silks and mounds of gold stashed in secret chambers. Big Time Gaming has brought these ruins to life in its newest game, Temple of Fortune.
The reels are decked out with colourful gems; play for a little longer and you'll uncover three mystical bonus games and extra cash multipliers. It's hard work to truly explore this entire slot and enjoy all of its features, and would incur a huge dent in your casino account balance. However, one thing's for sure: you're in for an adventure.

There are five reels and 20 paylines in Temple of Fortune. The number of paylines are configurable, which means that you can choose how many to play with depending on your budget. Temple of Fortune accepts bets as low as 1p per payline. However, once you start raking in some winnings, I’d recommend upping your bets to maximize your chances of fortune.
You can go as high as £10 per payline in this game. Be careful though, as the slot has relatively high volatility. The frequency of wins is slightly lower than other slot games, which also makes for quite a dull gaming session.
The prizes range from 4x to 1000x multipliers. I found that the average win is about 4-10x multipliers. These aren't very inspiring numbers, unfortunately.

As you explore this virtual temple, you'll stumble upon forks in the path or locked doors, behind which lies great fortune. These pockets of treasure are packaged into the shape of feature games in this slot. There are three feature games in Temple of Fortune – the Mystical Wheel of Fortune, Temple of Fortune and Treasure Chest.
The Mystical Wheel of Fortune is triggered when three wheel symbols appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. There are cash multipliers dotted around the wheel, with the possibility of winning up to 1000 times your initial bet.
The Temple of Fortune Feature is laid out like the classic board game, Snakes and Ladders. There are ten spaces on the board and each is marked with a cash multiplier. You’ll “roll the dice” using a digital counter and move your piece around the board. Wherever your piece stops, you’ll collect the prize that is listed on that particular space. To be honest, I have never experienced the game myself. It is only triggered when the temple symbol appears on all reels. As you can guess, the likelihood of this happening is really low.
The Treasure Chest Feature is just as hard to come by – it is only triggered when three or more chest symbols appear on the reels. You’ll pick one of five chests on the reels and collect the cash multiplier inside it. This game is slightly less profitable than the other two feature games, with the highest multiplier offered being only 500x.
The game’s visual artists have done a good job. The treasure temple is decorated with lush emeralds, rubies and sapphires; as well as colourful birds and mysterious foliage. It certainly evokes a sense of adventure that an explorer would have when exploring actual temples. At the same time, Temple of Fortune has a slightly gaudy look and feel, with cartoony animations.
Rich storyline, poor prizes
The developer behind Temple of Fortune had clearly invested a great deal of time in crafting the story and the feature games. However, this did not translate into fun for the players. The games rarely occured and did not put cash into our pockets. There are many other games that are built around feature games, such as Buster Safe by mFortune and Cheese Chase by PocketWin.
Unlike Temple of Fortune, those bonus games kept me engaged and well-paid. Besides, Big Time Gaming has more exciting games in its arsenal such as Temple Quest and Lucky Streak. My personal favourite was Temple Quest – it had Mega Symbols that occupied four reels at once and multiplied the number of wins.
I left the game slightly disappointed. They had promised so much through the advertisements and the paytable, yet I barely had the chance to try them all. I left the game with not much more money than I had started. There are much better games in the slot world that you should spend money and time on, and Temple of Fortune isn't one of them.
