Every now and again its nice to read a rags to riches story from the world of iGaming which restores your faith in the slots-powers that be. Joker Millions, the first progressive jackpot from Yggdrasil Gaming, provided such a story by granting one lucky a life changing six figure sum of money from a single, little spin.
This is the very first time that the Joker Millions progressive jackpot has been triggered since launching in March! Kim from Norway spent a little under half an hour to win just over €720,000.
Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO of Yggdrasil, said: “I’d like to congratulate the winner, I’m absolutely thrilled for him. This is the reason why people play progressive jackpots and to win a life-changing sum with one spin is hugely exciting.”
Its hugely exciting for Yggdrasil too, which might not make much sense but hear me out. The jackpots generated in progressive jackpot slots are created by taking a small percentage of every player's bet and throwing it in a big pot.
For this reason, a company which runs a progressive slot isn't offering up their own cash as a prize – technically its other people's. And when a progressive jackpot pays out everybody rushes to write about it, much like I'm doing now.
Yggdrasil will be extremely pleased that the jackpot has paid out shortly after the release of Vikings Go Wild as it provides more publicity for a software provider that have burst onto the scene in recent months and appear to be on the up and up!
