Swedish Casumo Player Hits €100+ Jackpot on Divine Fortune

One lucky casino gamer from Sweden is celebrating after landing a jackpot worth more than £100k... not bad for a loose change wager. The winner, who has been named only as Ida, was playing NetEnt's Divine Fortune slot game at Casumo Casino when her big moment arrived. She was playing at just 0.40c per spin – the equivalent of around 35p – when she managed to trigger the huge prize payout, which at €131,000 equates to roughly £115k.

It’s proof positive, if any were needed, that you don’t have to stake big with each spin of the reels to get your hands on those knee-trembling cash payouts.

Low Stakes, No Problem

That was a point confirmed by Ida, who said afterwards that she was ‘so happy [she] broke two myths'. “Firstly, that you need to bet big to win a jackpot,” she said, “And secondly, that you can’t win a jackpot on your phone.”

The Swedish slot enthusiast was passing the time on her smartphone when 'divine fortune’ struck, which really does go to show that if you have a spare five minutes while waiting for the bus or in the advert breaks of your favourite TV programme it’s well worth firing up your favourite casino app.

Indeed, Ida’s story is somehow even more down-to-earth than that. “Our new dog kept me awake late in the evening, so I just stayed in bed watching TV and playing on my phone. Somehow, I got into the bonus game and pressed the button quickly.”

Ida is referring to the Mega Jackpot that is available in Divine Fortune, which is the bonus round that NetEnt’s progressive jackpot games have become famous for in the past few years.

A Christmas to Remember

When the win was confirmed on her phone, Ida thought she’d actually won 131 Swedish Krona, which is worth approximately £11. After presumably rubbing her eyes in disbelief more than once, Ida soon realised that it was, unbelievably, a prize of 1.3 million SEK that was showing on the screen.

Naturally, her next move was to call her boyfriend in tears. He was working a night shift and understandably dubious about his partner’s news.

“He told me to stop lying, so I sent him a screenshot. I’m still in a bit of shock because this does not happen to normal people like us. Now my boyfriend greets me with ‘hey there, millionaire'."

With three children and Christmas approaching, Ida’s win could not have come at a better time and she has already confirmed that this year’s festivities will be rather special for the family. Otherwise, Ida plans to spend the windfall on her student fees, cars and a new roof.

Divine Fortune Strikes Again

If you’ve never played Divine Fortune, or haven’t even heard of it, now might be the time to get to know the flagship slot a little better.

It has paid out more than £2 million in prize money since it was launched and that total has been increased further by Ida’s win and that of a New Jersey player, who won more than £200k when they should have been concentrating on a conference call at work.

She too was laughing all the way to the bank – and the figures released by the Division of Gaming Enforcement make it clear she’s not the only one. Divine Fortune has paid out more than £75k on six separate occasions in the past year alone to US-based players.
